Utility Awareness Program
EIG encourages the use of EPA's "Portfolio Manager" to track utility consumption. The Ohio School Facility Commission strongly recommended the program and requires it if you use the HB 264 energy conservation program. EIG trains clients to use the Portfolio Manager, or if our clients do not have the time or resources to track utility consumption themselves, we provide this service for them.
Portfolio Manager is a free web-based interactive energy management tool that allows you to track and assess energy and water consumption across your entire portfolio of buildings in a secure online environment. Portfolio Manager can help you set investment priorities, identify under-performing buildings, verify efficiency improvements, and receive EPA recognition for superior energy performance.
By entering energy consumption and cost data into your free Portfolio Manager account you get a benchmark of your building’s energy performance. You can also assess your energy management goals over time and identify strategic opportunities for savings. Each building gets a rating as compared to other building with similar type, size, usage, and weather. By tracking this over time use can watch the improvements you make. This information is published in our Energy News Monthly to encourage commitment to your energy savings goals.
If your building receives a rating of 75 or higher, your building will be recognized as an “Energy Star” building and you will receive a plaque to announce your performance.
